Standard diagrams DIN 50602
(Non-metallic inclusions in high grade metals)
In conventional work standard diagrams (often fixed at
a wall) are compared with the image seen in the ocular.
Modern image analysis can make this task much easier: Standard images are
displayed with the video image of the microscope in one plane.
In this representation the elements of the standard diagrams can be paged.
If the diagrams contain more than one column (like Oxides) the order of subsequent pages can be selected.
The display order of video image and standard diagram is adjustable. Standard diagrams can be displayed transparent or above or below the video image. Also norm numbers can be added.
The PicEd Cora software ensures, that the both images (video
and standards) are displayed with correct scale.
Prerequisit for working with
standard diagrams is the purchase of the appropriate standard sheet. From
this standard the diagrams are cutted out and stored. With the PicEd Cora tools
scale errors can be excluded.
Because standard diagrams are displayed in a definite magnification, the same magnification has to be adjusted at the microscope.
After calibration of the system (microscope-camera-software) scale-correct work with standard diagrams is enabled.
