Overview of functions

The PicEd Cora software contains all tools for image analysis up to statistical particle analysis.

Documentation	All elements to add explanations to the image, like texts, circle markings, arrows or freehand drawings. Image-into-image functions. Image comparisons as e.g. four split, half-compares.
Interactive Measurement	Definition of scales, microscope calibrations. Interactive measurement of lengths, distances, angles, diameters, areas.
Retouching	Modification of brightness, contrast, colors. All modifications can be performed on the whole image as well as in arbitrary shaped cutouts.
Filters (mathematical, morphological)	Mathematical image operations like noise-filters, Laplace, Sobel, user defined mathematical filters Morphological operations (erosion, dilation) executable on various ranges.
Binarizing	Object definitions by brightness criteria (thresholds) Object definitions by color differences.
Particle analysis	Object statistics (irregular objects, circles, rings ..) Sorting according different sizes (area, length, width, perimeter)
Automatic image composition	Enlargement of field of view by composing single image with overlapping view areas. (Also called stiching, panorama)
Focal depth	This feature deals with images at different focal depths corresponding to a different record layers (Z-stack). The software calculates from this image stack a single image with all regions in focus.
